Pulitzer Prize-Winning Poet Paul Muldoon on Handcart’s The Burial at Thebes

“I simply can’t imagine a better production of The Burial at Thebes. Handcart Ensemble is a spectacularly gifted group, absolutely equal to the subtleties of Heaney’s text. I’ll go anywhere to see anything they do.” —Paul Muldoon

The perfect venue

Scott is quoted three different times in a recent BackStage article about venues in New York called "Six Surprising Ways to Find the Perfect Venue." The article brings backs memories. He references our past days of rehearsing in a Harlem basement, and a missed idea from Ordet: our set designer Doug wanted potting soil on the floor, but it was not allowed by the owner of the space. I always wished I could have seen that soil.
